My mother in law has just had a bathroom fitted by this company. She has paid a top quality price for very cheap and shoddy bathroom.
She used them because she is starting to get uneasy on her feet and struggling to get in to the bath and went to mobility as they are a family business and she thought they would be best to use. Sowhat do they fit? A shower tray as deep as a high step. How can that assist mobility?
They have fitted cheap plastic wall panels that have two joins in the shower area, leaving a risk of leaking. The shower panel is cheap plastic too. Apparently because glass ones are dangerous for the elderly! The toilet has been fitted with a half inch gap at the back and a top that rocks about.
The turn off for the toilet has been put underneath at the back of the toilet, not at all accessible if needed. Pointless fitting it! There is no extractor fan fitted, contrary to latest planning regulations. When asked the salesman said it is not needed as there is a window in the bathroom, which is not true or correct.
She asked for a thermostatic shower run off the new combi boiler, she got an electric shower! She spent one evening without power. When she called the company to say the electric had tripped she was told they hadnt touched the electrics in to the meter. This is also not true.
As for the cheap cushionflooring put in, its a joke. £5900 for a second rate bathroom. The quality of the goods used and the fitting should not have cost more than £2000. My husband called the company as he was horrified what they have done.
It will take almost three weeks for an engineer to come out. They are clearly very busy with call outs from unhappy customers. To cap it all she apparently saved £1888 pounds which when she said she could not afford nearly £8000 the very nice salesman said he would knock off the VAT. We have just found out that mobility goods do not attract VAT.
Disgraceful. Its now December And several phone calls later and a number of weeks the company agreed they did a bad job and promised to put everything right. Several more phone calls later a visit was arranged. The men turned up and said they were only fixing the toilet as that is all they were told to do.
We sent them away and told them they were toiching nothing unless they were fixing everything. We have so far been promised another call and another date to fix everything and have now been waiting a week for confirmation of a date. The only thing we have on our side is my mother in law took out finance (through mobility plus). We called the finance company (Hitachi Finance) straight away when we realised how poor the job was and told them not to pay the finance, which they havent.
Thay are doing all they can to help and have confirmed no payments will be made until we are happy. Thank heavens for the finance company. If you have a bathroom fitted by this company and have credit if you are unhappy with the work advise the finance company immediately and tell them you want to hold the finance under section 75 of the consumer credit act. They legally have to put the finance on hold and they are jointly responsible for sorting out the problem.
We cannot complain about them they have called regularly and whenever they speak to us is the only time that miraculously we get a call from mobility plus!!
This Company are an absolute joke. Do not touch them.
